Rooted in Love is a theatrical floral exhibit that brings together horticulture and Shakespearean storytelling. Visitors enter a living stage where flowers become characters, beginning with a floral portrait of Shakespeare and unfolding into The Tale of Briar and Sunny, a reimagined love story between a rose and a sunflower from rival flower fields.
Through layered floral design, rich color, and interactive elements, the exhibit explores themes of lineage, connection, and destiny. Flowers take center stage, highlighting their cultural symbolism and expressive power as storytellers.
This exhibit also serves as a living companion to the original story written by Chloe Oechsle, expanding its narrative beyond the page and into an immersive floral performance.

We oftentimes think of plants as being sedentary, bound by their roots, but when we take a closer look, we notice that they are in constant motion; unfurling their fronds, elongating their stems, and grooving and moving to reach the sunlight. Plants are living and breathing just like you and me! We can perceive light, scent, touch and sound, just like our chlorophyl loving companions.
Movement is needed to survive and when used as a form of therapy through dance, color, music… it can help us thrive!
Come together with our floral friends on the dance floor as you too can Bloom to the rhythm with the harmonious colors, music and flowers.
